Year 11 students head out to Kawakawa Bay
The Year 11 Outdoor Education class (ODE) completed the first part of their tramp and camp assessments last week by tramping into Kawakawa Bay. From here they had a great time camping overnight and tramping back into Kinloch the following day. The trip was an opportunity for students to assess the human impact on the bay. They were thrilled to see weta in a cave and koura in the lake, while also hearing ruru and stags roaring at night. Unfortunately, they also saw the less desirable side of nature, including rats, possums, cats, and catfish. Overall, it was a very successful trip!
