Students achieve great results in adventure racing!
On Saturday the 27th of June our adventure racing squad competed in the Soaked in Adventure 6 hour rogaine. Challenged with the pouring rain, steep climbs and muddy terrain our athletes performed at a high level achieving great results. All three of our teams placed first in their categories.
We completed approximately 25 kilometres of combined mountain biking and running, while also navigating over hills, in forests and streams. During the race we kept at a steady pace pushing each other along, finding our way to the next checkpoint while keeping an eye on our maps and our time. The weather pushed our boundaries, creating mudslides and slippery hills.
1st in the junior boys category: Josh Wigram, Ethan Staddon and Samuel Mckay
1st in the junior mixed category: Kasper Lenoir, Lilja Tinworth and Izaak Manders
1st in the senior mixed category: Elliott Smith, Mia Cameron, Naomi Riedel and Matthew Stokes
Our next event is the Don’t Get Lost Rugged Rogaine at Kerr Road, Naike (Rapid Stream). It will be a 2 or 4 hour foot rogaine on Sunday the 12th of July.
