Licence to Work students have a go at rafting!
Our Year 13 Licence to Work students were thankful to wake up to a fine sunny morning as they drove out to Turangi to conquer the Tongariro Grade 3 rapids. After a short safety briefing, they struggled into their wetsuits and buoyancy aids, and set off to the dam. The raft teams bonded quickly with the guides, which was essential as the roar of the first rapids was ominously approaching. After being woken up by the ice-cold water, then warmed through by the sun, they saw some fantastic scenery and wildlife (whio) on the 2-hour tour. Many thanks to Rafting New Zealand for a great day. The students gained a lot of experience and confidence from the trip.
