'Identify, Isolate, Eliminate' on the mountain!
24 students from the Line 6 "Identify, Isolate, Eliminate" team headed out on a survival camp at the end of term two. These students had a fabulous time experiencing the outdoors in our local area. They visited the Tangiwai Disaster Memorial Site to see the devastating results of volcanic activity when it crosses the path of unprepared people. They also tramped into the Taranaki Falls through the ice and alpine environment, and the students endured a short 'solo challenge' in the dark on the slopes of the mountain. The trip finished off with the students performing a practice rescue from the bush at Rotopounamu. It was a great way to finish this term's rotation!
