Boys Basketball Team learn valuable lessons on pre-season camp
Basketball players at Nui have been attending a pre-season training camp in Ohakune. Training has been hard, yet rewarding, with morning runs up the Turoa ski field and lots of skills training on the court. Significantly, the team has been working on building the Tuakana roles between the senior and junior players, and this has now become the culture of the team. The senior boys led by example on the court, but also by leading and teaching the school haka to the juniors. It's safe to say the camp was a huge success and the year has started with positivity and commitment, as well as strong communication and effort from the players.
