This year our Kura put in a new team into the junior yr 9 and yr 10 Ki O Rahi Nationals held at Owen Delany Park.
30 teams entered divided into 6 pools. Top 2 from each would continue into the top 16 and 4 teams with the best point differences.
Unfortunately we were up against 3 top 10 teams in our pool , being soundly beaten by 2 of them in the first 2 rounds .
Taupo recovered getting a win over Kapiti 14/10 and our best game a draw with Manutuke 18 all who were undefeated in our pool.
Unlucky the next day we lost by 1 point to Manawatu , this ended our chance to contend for the Plate final.
Last game was a impressive win 35/16 over John Paul College.
This proved our team is tracking well to be a top 10 team in Aotearoa.
The work ethic of our young players has been the highlight for me.
Well done! National Seniors next year term 1 in April!
Thank you to Matua Brett and Tawhi for coaching this team.
