Four junior teams got off to a great start this weekend in Rotorua
Wow what a successful weekend of volleyball at the Bay of Plenty Secondary Schools tournament.
This year the event is being held over two weekends in Rotorua.
Our Winter Wednesday's volleyball offering seems to have really helped grow the sport at the College and this year we have three girls teams and two boys teams. We're not sure the last time we had this many teams and we certainly haven't sent more than one boys and one girls team to these championships in a while. We know this from the seeding documents that go back three years.
The highlight of the weekend is that our Girls B team has finished top of their pool with 3 wins and 1 loss which was from a 3 set nailbiter
Girls A team had two of each finishing a solid 3rd in their pool which is a great result as they are seeded quite high.
The boys teams played some great volleyball over the weekend, in some very close matches. Whio lost two of their games in tense and tight 3 setters and Kakariki managed to beat a team on Sunday that they had lost to on Saturday.
The hours given by our coaches, managers and players is paying off that's for sure.
