Clay Target Shooting - on the road to Nationals

Clay Target Shooting - on the road to Nationals

This Tauranga shoot is the last for the team before they head to Nationals

The clay target team competed at the Tauranga Inter Collegiate Secondary School shoot last Thursday, with four team members scoring a 'possible' in the single barrel event:
George Canning
Nadine Gibbons
Jaxon Terry (junior)
Luke Falconer (junior)

This requires a huge amount of focus and confidence, and it was especially pleasing to see two juniors achieve this result.

Jack Staples and Hamish Seymour were just one target off a possible, a fantastic result that reflects all their hard work.

Ben Partner scored highest overall for TNT, with a remarkable 59/60 in the point score event.

Once again the Taupō-nui-a-Tia College team placed third place overall.
Team members are Harrison Knight, Nadine Gibbons, Harlan Wildey, Ben Partner and George Canning.

In the girls' team event, Naomi Seymour and Lana Breingan just missed out on a placing.
Going forward into 2025, these two will be a force to be reckoned with.

Nadine Gibbons placed third in the individual girls' event, and has consistently medaled throughout the year.

Thanks for the support of coaches Alec Barrett and Sharon Knight, and also parents Mel and Scott Gibbons, and Jared Seymour.

We can't wait for the Nationals in three week's time, with two full squads traveling to Christchurch, supported by around 15 friends and family.

The College wishes everyone all the best of luck in Christchurch and safe travels.  The hard work is done, just enjoy and celebrate your success.
