NZPCA has honored 5 Taupo-nui-a-Tia College students with their "Achievers Awards". This is an annual award for riders who have gone above and beyond the usual standard or riding, behaviour, academia etc. It is unheard of to have so many top class students from 1 school or Pony Club. Normally you may get 1 person receive the award from the Bay of Plenty Area, let alone 5 from one district and school.
The students are:
Sarah Nelson (year 13) and Ella Nelson have received the A achievers award for representing NZ internationally, competing at National level in different disciplines, their sports of tetrathlon (Sarah) and Ella playing rep hockey for BOP as well as their voluntary contributions to equestrian sport in NZ. Ella is again the youngest person ever to receive this award.
Rory Mackintosh (year 13) received her B award for her academic excellence, competing at National level in riding, representing BOP at hockey and her contribution to NZPCA.
Neeve Buckingham (year 13) received her B award for competing at National level in different disciplines, her musical skills and her contribution to NZPCA.
Emma Staples (year 12) received her B award for competing at National level, her artistic skills and endorsements, her academic excellence and her contribution to NZPCA.
These awards were presented at the NZPCA AGM and conference in August in Wellington.
Well done girls, this is an incredible achievement and we are proud of you!
