Our qualifiers achieved outstanding results.
Following the Waikato Bay of Plenty Secondary Schools athletics championships, three of our athletes qualified to represent our region.
The North Island Secondary Schools athletics championships were held last weekend in Palmerston North.
Zene Erasmus competed in the Junior Girls Javelin finishing a very close 2nd behind her Waikato BoP teammate. With throws of over 28 metres, they were only separately by 24 centimetres.
Kamaia Minhinnick competed in the Senior Girls Javelin, Shot Put and Long Jump.
She finished 2nd in the javelin with a massive 36m throw.
Kamaia was also 5th in the Shot Put and 6th in the Long Jump
Dante Minhinnick competed in the Intermediate Boys Discus, Long Jump and Triple Jump
He was 4th in the Triple Jump with an impressive jump of more than 12 metres.
Dante was also 8th in the Long Jump and 9th in the Discus
