During the holidays, Taupo-nui--a Tia was represented by 5 mountain bikers at the New Zealand Schools Mountain biking Championships.
The team achieved amazing results with four girls, Tori Barrett (2nd U17), Bianca Stewart (4th U15), Josie Murphy (5th U15) and Antonia Shepherd (5th U16), competing in the cross country event. The three younger girls combined under Tori's management to claim 1st in the U16 relay event.
Harrison Fletcher was our sole entrant in the downhill and enduro events. He gained an outstanding 7th in downhill and 20th in enduro.
Very impressively as a school Taupo-nui-a-tia placed 9th overall out of 124 schools represented.
