Two squads competed in Hamilton on the last Thursday of term at the latest round in the Bay of Plenty Clay Target Competition. For the past two years, we have been building the team up from scratch after all the seniors left in 2022. We currently have 4 Year 9s, 3 Year 10s, and 3 Year 11s on the team. In the past 12 months, a big change for the team has been the introduction of weekly practices, and time spent on the target getting in some range time. We also have a focus on teamwork, and in the holidays, we looked forward to a team training day to improve technical knowledge about the sport and about handling firearms.

On Thursday, one of our teammates got a third-place medal for Overall Senior Boy. Supported by the team, the coaches, and all the parent helpers, Harry Knight had a nail-biting one-on-one competition for second and third positions. The result was a draw, so it was repeated. 

Harry then had to have another one-on-one competition for an invite voucher to attend the NZProvincial Championships in 2024. Well done, Harry.
