Congratulations to Meadow Peacocke for winning 1st place in the Sir Turi Carrol Junior English Section of the Te Arawa Regional Manu Kōrero which were hosted at Taupo-nui-a-Tia College on Friday 23 June. Meadow will now represent the Te Arawa Region at the National Manu Kōrero Competition in Dunedin in September. Her speech was exceptional with a focus on 'being unapologetically Maori'. Meadow had some powerful messages such as, “The media paints a distorted view of my culture” and, “todays society is failing to come together as one”, and it was impressive to see the impact of these messages on the audience. Outstanding work, Meadow. We are very proud of you!
