Within the College, we are lucky to have so many outstanding students and it is a privilege to be able to recognise one with the Student of the Week Award on a regular basis. This week’s recipient is Tawhai Donaldson (Kuratau School, Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Ngāti Turumakina).
Tawhai is a true leader and role model of the cornerstone values in our College. He is brave in his leadership, has a strong sense of duty, and is often willing to stand up when others are not. While only just reaching the midpoint of his first full year of NCEA, Tawhai is already assured of a Merit endorsement and is nearing Excellence. He is heavily involved in Te Awhiorangi, our school kapa haka rōpū, and ki-o-rahi. Looking towards the future, Tawhai envisages a career in the Armed Services with the possibility of becoming a Te Reo Māori teacher. A remarkably similar pathway to Matua Snow!
Student of the Week Awards are presented to acknowledge students who display the attitudes and values of the Taupō-nui-a-Tia Learner Profile.
