On Friday, 9 keen students from our Agricultural Science and Farm Skills classes attended the secondary school event of the New Zealand Rural Games.
At the Agrifutures displays, the students spoke to representatives from universities and training institutions, as well as specific industry organisations. There are so many possible careers in this varied industry.
In the Clash of the Colleges, our two teams demonstrated their knowledge and skills in 18 modules. These included first aid, assembling a shearing handpiece, identifying trees, tractor pull, and of course, gumboot post throws. While we did not place, the students enjoyed working together to complete the challenges.
