- Amazing Sporting Opportunities – Taupo-nui-a-Tia College is a top sporting school that regularly competes at national level. The “High Performance Programme” caters for our high achieving athletes and complements our sports programme. There are over 30 different sports on offer at all levels – both competitive and social. Every year the college sends up to ten teams to national tournaments.
- Performing Arts – NCEA drama, dance and music are offered at all levels at Taupo-nui-a-Tia College. Specialist individual tutoring is offered for those musicians wanting to hone their performance skills be they opera, rock or instrumental. Our drama and music students have a history of success in regional and national performances, competing in Smokefree Rockquest, Stage Challenge, Dance NZMade and Sheilah Winn Shakespeare competition
- Facilities – Taupo-nui-a-Tia College has an on going property development programme. Most recently the gymnasium has been rebuilt and enlarged to include a dance studio, new changing facilities and a full size basketball court. The new Design and Innovation centre complements the range of cutting edge technology the college has to cater for 21st Century learners

- Careers – Our careers department has procedures and policies that are used as examples of good practice throughout the country. Testament to our careers department is the number of students from other schools seeking careers advice at Taupo-nui-a-Tia College
- Systems – Taupo-nui-a-Tia College has efficient and established systems in place to monitor student’s progress. We closely track academic progress and identify students who are at risk of not achieving NCEA earlier enough to intervene. We also monitor student attendance and notify parents the moment we have any concerns. Feedback from parents indicates that they appreciate the regular and prompt feedback they receive from the college.
- Enhanced Learning Programmes are offered at junior and senior level
